back to the desk. starting with breaking news in san francisco, we first told you about this in san francisco, a car slammed into a mini-bus and fire hydrant, lorraine blanco than wreckage has blocked a major street, lorraine? >> reporter: we just spoke to an officer who said the chase started on market and when the vehicle came, it sideswiped the minivan and hit the bottom of the apartment pulling and this is what it looked like closer to 3:00 a.m. the vehicle was carjacked and they are not sure how long the suspects have been in the city. they are looking for at least two men and that search was unsuccessful and he felt the

hydrants spewing and when he checked out the car he disappeared. >> whoever it was, was fast, if they crashed and just got out, they were gone. >> reporter: police do not believe there were any passengers on that mini-bus. back out here live, neighbors said the suspect took off and they are looking at two suspects and they are still investigating the roadway back open. tara moriarty joins us with more on a roaring gun battle. >> reporter: one car was shot, the other got away and now they are looking for the people who

got away in that suspect car. we will keep in touch with vallejo police but those evidence markers littered the ground and more than two dozen shots were fired according to authorities. a rear window was blown out with six shots hitting that car itself. it happened on the block which spanned an entire block and it is made up of different blocks and it is quite a distance. a car crashed into a white car and the suspect car sped away and now police are processing the evidence. >> i don't believe this is your difficult random shooting but again we are not sure exactly who was involved in it. >> four people inside that white car were wounded and all

because they demand limitations. he is worried about dealing with suspects without having to use a regular gun. the senate begins debate on new gun control legislation. ahead of the debate, volunteers and members of the clergy from newtown connecticut, they are creating a mock cemetery. the crosses represent the 3300 victims killed as a result of gun violence in connecticut back on december 14thth. >> and there is a battle extended on the -- expected on the service floor. she is using an unknown object to strike a student in this cell phone video footage

at 6:00. police found a car used by the gunman 34-year-old clint bowyer was shot in the oakland hills. he died in the hospital two days later. police say they found the car in east oakland near the elementary school one day after that shooting. police hope you can help. this surveillance camera shows two men walking into the store, pulls a gun and points it at the employee's head and demands cash. the two men still pose a danger to the public. >> they are still out there committing multiple robberies and our concern is that they can have a piece full -- peaceful outcome >> they are responsible for at least seven robberies and there is now a $20,000 reward in this

he planned to use stunguns with 5% of the police force but now he has withdrawn that proposal. later this morning, the u.s. proposal takes up the debate of gun control, a bipartisan bill is being considered and some say they will try to block debate on any gun control legislation. bipartisan gun control could be used later today and 10 years in up to upgrade border improvement. it does not stop immigrants from gaining citizenship if enforcement benchmarks are not met. rallies for immigrant rights were held in the bay area and across the nation yesterday. hundreds marched in san francisco and protesters are worried about deportation if lawmakers can't agree on
